About Us

Non – Resident Indians Parents Association (NRIPA), a voluntary and non profit association, came in to existence on 1st January 1998 with the main objective of bringing together parents whose children are living abroad for mutual social support and interaction in various fields including art, science, education, literature and other humanities. NRIPA, in this short span, besides being able to cater to the needs of parents in the above area, has participated in Helpage India’s programs and other charitable causes as mentioned below.

COMMUNITIY HELP

Even though NRIPA was launched basically as a socio – psychological support group for its members, NRIPA members have donated a substantial amount to noble causes such as Kargil Martyrs’ Fund and to Mobile Health Project sponsored by HelpAge India to reach out to less privileged citizen in slum areas. NRIPA members, besides having donated walkers, hearing aids, medicines and oxygen cylinders etc.to HelpAge India, also made donations to Karunashraya, a support organistion for terminally ill cancer patients and to Flood Relief Funds in Karnataka and Kerala. With support from other well established organizations like banks/ institutions, NRIPA plans to continue the cause of helping needy senior citizens in a big way. NRIPA also has created a Corpus Fund with contributions by the children of NRIPA members, the interest accrued out of the which is being utilized for charitable purposes.
